Martin HD Dierks Bentley Signature Guitar

Martin HD Dierks Bentley Signature - Inside Guitar Stickers

Dierks Bentley is thrilled that next month Martin Guitars will release the HD Dierks Bentley Custom Signature Edition. It's special for Dierks because he says, "I'm a huge fan of this certain kind of guitar, it's a Martin guitar. For me it's the official bluegrass guitar, but it's used in a lot of different styles of music other than just bluegrass, but all the guys I love from Del McCoury to back to Lester Flatt and guys like Dwight Yoakam, too, Marty Stuart, they use this guitar." When Dierks first moved to Nashville he was eventually able to buy a 1971 D18 Martin, which he still has, but to now have his own custom Martin coming out he says, "It's pretty cool. To a lot of people it won't mean anything, but to me it’s a personal thing and it means a lot. I’m really honored to be in that group of people that have their own Martin."

Dierks helped to design his custom guitar. He explains, "It's kind of based on the song 'Home' and the record 'Home," so there’s the herring bone on the outside that's red, white and blue, but there's a little bit of a Buck Owens influence there as well because I'm a huge Buck fan… there's a phoenix on there just because of where I'm from and just the specs on the guitar are kind of custom to how I like 'em, so it’s pretty cool." Each guitar will also have a special sticker mounted inside the body of the guitar featuring Dierks Bentley's signature.

Dierks laughs when he thinks about his new guitar and says, "The guitar I have that I play all the time has a big hole in it from playing it so much, so it's kind of weird. Everything I have is kind of beat up a little bit, so it’s weird to have this nice shiny guitar. It's kind of freaking me out a little bit, but I’m gonna do my best to get it all beat up here pretty soon."
