Theory and principles quite hig, but I dont use them intuititivly yet,
which is my aim.
I've always wondered why guitar seems to be the only instrument where it
isnt cool to know things- and that seems to be because of blues and rock.
But the way I see it is even if you only use the pentatonic, you are still
using theory- its still a scale and you still know the positions.
Yeah I use the lydian, or the melodic minor, or the Kumoi, but its no
different to using the pentatonic. Its not how much you know, its how you
use it.
I'd rather have the knowledge than not, and it never did Mozart, Stravinsky
or John Coltrane any harm did it! ____________________ Cough cough jazz cough cough |
