I cannot decide between the American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster with the new S-1 switching system or the '62 Vintage Reissue Stratocaster with the old vintage pickups. Do they really make that much noise? Somebody please help me!

I've only ever found noise to be a problem when I stand too close to the amp, so I'd go for the 62ri.
Besides, one of Frusciante's strats is a 62

I like the 57 reissues even better but you will have to go with the maple neck instead of rosewood.

I know, thats why I want the guitar. In fact, I've never even played it. I just want it because John has it. John Frusciante is one of the greatest guitarists ever IMO.

Frusciante is a hero of mine too.
His other strat is a 57, but he also uses a 63 Telecaster custom, drool!
I'd go with the 62ri strat or a 62ri Tele custom.
Modern strats just don't do it for me, I don't like the bridge and the noiseless pickups don't have enough strat tone in my opinion
