Are you trying to artificial or natural harmonics???????

You know the kind with your pick or by lightly touching the string

I think you might be talking about squeals or pinch harmonics which are atrificial harmonics...just pick the string with pick however let the very tip of your thumb hit the string then let it squeal...remove thumb after hitting string so it can squeal and not dampen out...I usually play string slightly harder to produce an even better squeal...do not use open strings for this.

other atrificial harmonics include this

play an A bar chord...now dont strum it ...now look up at he 15th fret and start tapping your index finger on the steel frets...not the middle of fret but on the steel...the notes will ring out if you kind of tap or slap string with finger...remember to take finger off after you tap quickly as to ring out while still leaving your left had in the chord position...examlpe

----5
----5
----6
----7
----7
----5

A chord

---15
---15
---16
---17
---17
---15

Tap these notes on the metal frets quickly and release while still holding the A chord position.

This method can be used for most if not all chords...keep in mind chords with a lot of open strings wont really work well...if at all.

I guess your saying your fingers are so double jointed that they bend back or something?

The only solution I can think of is to maybe use some kind of really thin cloth tape and put it around your finger where the joint is to support the joint.

Im guessing thats what you meant...Im not sure...Sorry if I got that wrong.
