Got a question on Blues theory. I have an easy rock progression I,IV,V in A-Major thats pretty straight forward and kind of bluesly (V7 turnaround) and in applying the blues minor pentatonic I find that the most pleasing blues scale to play over this is the E blues scale position 4 and position 1 (at the 12th fret), but the song is in the key of A. Can someone explain the theory here? Thanks

Your basically playing the relative minor scale in A which is E minor
or E Aeolian. Playing the minor blues scales is just a striped down version. This goes for all keys.

Relative minor scale for A... is F# minor... not E.
