Of course i'm a noob , first electric guitar, just wondering would the Les Paul Special-II be a good pick for a noob? If not, what would be a good choice.. budget is around 300 bucks

Oh just to add, i was looking at the Les Paul Package, not just the guitar alone

i'm a newb at this too. but i can say this: i bought an SG special and it has been really cool so far. i don't know about the package deal as far as the amp - i bought a guitar and a marshall 15w practice amp and a mogami (sp?) cord. already have a stand, tuner etc.
i think the les paul would be a goody if you want that sound and style. i haven't been dissappointed in the Epiphone at all.
