Hey...Chirstmas is coming up this week, and I need some recomendations. I can't decide wether to ask for a Electric Guitar or a Acoustic Electric Guitar. I really like Green Day, Dashboard, Blink 182, and Sum 41. I don't know if that would have any affect but yeah. If you have any advise why you would pick that one..and any reccomendations that would be great. I think my mom was looking at the Washburn Acoustics...so any recomendations would be welcome..thank you.

Buy an electric if you want to play rock music...just buy an acoustic pedal to get that acoustic sound out of your electric.

i would advise u start learning on acoustic coz they r harder to play than electric and once u become a good player maybe couple of years later get urself an electric guitar so u have both.. just keep in mind to learn those stuff about rock music pentatonic scales etc..
its better to have more than a guitar an amp pedals effects mixers mics and loads of music stuff just start building ur own studio getting a thing every year and so..

I still say start on electric because acoustics are harder to play...play electric until you build up hand strength and coordination then when it comes time to play acoustic it wont be much of difference...also when people start out on acoustic they usually buy a cheap one and some cheap acoustics have a higher action and can be tough to play so thats why electric is a better choice...dont want to discourage new players and you want learning to be as easy as possible.
