Maybe suck is to strong of a word...I guess I was spoiled from all of their amazing songs from their early years...I dislike the new Van Halen and I would never buy it.

i always thought van halen was pretty good but not enough to see em live or nething. except for a few songs like runnin with the devil etc. i have a few of their albums tho. i dont think they shoudve tried to make a comebak. Mistake. I agree that suk is a strong word but they arent close to the caliber they once were.

Peace and Rock

Eddie licks wore off in the 80's, but he's still going to go down in the books along side Hendix,Clapton and the rest... He's one of the reasons I really got serious about playing. Eruption amazed me as a young kid and even Eddie can't play it the same. It was a magic moment to say the least. The keyboard side of Eddie took Van Halen in another direction as he worked more on songwriting them fast licks etc...

it's all in what you like!

Eddie Van Halen is and will always be the best rock n' roll guitarist in the world. No matter what anyone says, either way he can smoke you in guitar. So I dont think anyone can bad mouth him. And Van Halen will always be good with any lead singer.

no doubt eddie is an awesome player...plays better when hes drinking then sober though...5150 is one of my all time favorite albums however its basically the last album I liked of theirs with the exception of "when its love" of OU812...didnt really like eddies guitar sound after 5150...it started sounding to mechanical and distant to me...hes is or was one of the best...the songs are not there anymore...not for me anyway.
