Well, I suppose I should introduce myself. I live in Calgary, Canada and it seems I play the guitar (or try to anyway). I have played in piles of bands. I have played for probably 10 years or so. I have played bass for about 15 years. I first moved from bass to guitar when I got bored of the bass because the challenge disappeared and I could play pretty much anything I wanted with ease. I have been struggling trying to achieve anywhere near that level of proficience on the guitar ever since with mixed results. I am totally self taught and have only recently beun to take it really seriously. And that is how I ended up here. I have tons of gaps in my guitar knowledge. Most notably a complete lack of theory and advanced techniques. I am currently trying to improve solo techniques and finger playing techniques. My main musical interest is rather extreme metal. I am way into progressive death metal. Especially the sound coming out of Sweden at the moment. But my interests are pretty wide in the big picture. I spent my youth in punk bands and would love to learn some classical guitar.

Outside of guitars, I am literally obsessed with motorcycles. Sportbikes to be precise. I hope to race eventually, butmy finances are a problem because I am also a student. I am studying archaeology at the University of Calgary and hope to pursue it to the Ph D level and make a career out of it. My main archaeological interest is in the physical anthropology side of things., especially human evolution. I haven't looked at the off toic area yet, but if anyone shares this interest I would love to discuss it as well as guitars.

Anyway, my long windedness has betrayed both my academic nature and my slightly buzzed state (hey give me a break, it is Fraiday night and I spend the whole day in an osteology lab, I need to unwind a bit). I like what I see so far and I think I will stick around.

What came first the chicken or the egg...My theory is that they came to be at the same time...just a thought.
