So what do you think of Joe Walsh? Do you like his playing and do you think he should be in this category Guitar Slingers?

I give Joe 4/5 I like his playing on the song Funk 49 very grooving. He's a good song-writer too. Besides he was in one of the greatest bands in history the "Eagles"

His tone is not what I consider great but not bad.

Joe Walsh is a great guitar player and very entertaining to watch live. I was lucky enough to see him play with the Eagles at Mile High Stadium and that was extremely cool!

As great as Joe is though, I think Don Felder is even better. Still sad that his time with the Eagles is over. Bummer!

I agree, the James Gang are more my kinda band. Probably more Joe's kinda band too I suspect. I like The Eagles too, in small doses though.

IMO Joe is an awesome player. He's a dude who's done his homework well, learned guitar skills of the blues and rock masters, the songwriting/arranging skills of The Beatles and Stones and CS+N, and used all these influences to form his own unique style. He's pretty handy on the hardware side of things too. He mods all his own guitars and amps. He's got lots of cool tricks. I also dig his sense of humour, he doesnt take himself too seriously.

He's pretty wacky. I think he's winning the funny guitar face contest on the guitarplayer forum.
