4,14,19,21,23,24,38(omfg how gay...)44,45,46,47,,49,and last and probably least #50

didnt see any blue oyster cult up there so thats an idiot list to begin with, kind of missed ummm ted nugent too,not to mention umm pink floyd.kind of missed that little group called "kiss" too and jerry garcias and bob weir are not too happy i imagine with being left off such a prestigious list (ha)that "frampton comes alive" dude i guess deserves being supplanted by "warehouse" petes album only went triple platinum, biggest selling live album of all time(still) so im guessin it had a rather minor impact overalll.btw, peter frampton is the MacShizzle,he can play RINGS around about anyone youve ever heard ,hes another "not really cool" person that is not appreciated enough by the general(ignorant) public. go figure....

Just wondering how you think blue oyster cult made a difference in the guitar? Don't get me wrong they made great music but never made great guitar playing like a hendrix, EVH,Claption,Townson etc

Peter frampton well is no guitar king..... pentatonic licks that bore the sh%t out of me.

Just my thoughts. I like guitarist that make goose bumps raise when they play a riff.

There's far and in between.

=sigh= just shows what a n00by you are.when i was about 18 i bought this 2nd hand "album" called "guitars that destroyed the world",this album fiirst came out in about 1973 or so.it had people like ted nugent, carlos santana, alvin lee, randy california, robin trower and buck dharma(lead guitarist in boc)among others.on that album he plays a tune called "bucks boogie",its on another blue oyster cult album "on your feet,or on your knees"too.im sorry that you havent had enough real guitar experience yet to figure out whats good and what isnt, but if you ll get that recording and listen to that tune, then try to play it,i think youll change your tune about mr dharma.also, why dont you try reading a few "guitar player"reviews about him?im sad for you really because you dont have a clue, totally clueless and its just the medias fault not yours.and,I GREW UP WHEN R+R WAS BEING HATCHED SO I CAN TELL YOU THAT YES,BLUE OYSTER CULT PLAYED A HUGE ROLE IN THE MUSICAL/GUITAR SCENE THAT WAS ROCK AND ROLL,BUT SADLY YOU MTV KIDDIES WILL NEVER GET TO EXPERIENCE REAL MUSIC,SO ENJOY WHAT YOU GET FORCE FED.bah and peter frampton hardly ever plays a pentatonic scale, hes a django reinhardt student you dolt.

Blue oyster cult made good tunes however they never sculpted anything new.Maybe 1 or 2 songs were inventive. The rest is just plain ol rock...I see nothing new.Thats my opinion.

The first band that I thought of that should of been there was Pink Floyd...However Im not sure if Floyd was really inventive when it came to the guitar...If you take everything out and you just listened to the guitar Im not sure if David Gilmour shaped rock guitar...I like his playing however if you take away the effects and what not...Your left with a somewhat blusey but not really blues guitar player...Its slow rock lead guitar...Its hard to describe Davids playing so maybe he should be in the list...Its a tough one.

Kiss was not inventive in a guitar sense...Songwriting yes...Guitar no...Power chords are not inventive...Ace's leads are basic as basic can be...The same goes for ted Nugent...good songwrirting however not inventive in the guitar sense...Jerry Garcias was unique...Maybe he should be in there...Maybe.

You see willy2 and ziggy_stardust we have the bye bye switch.

You have continued to break the rules on every post. Offending other members, posting ads and so on.

This forum is meant for other guitarist to share ideas, learn and so on. Not to post non-sense and try to stir up other members by offending.
