This may sound stupid, but I have searched everywhere to find out how to play tabs. If anyone can explain it please do. I have been just doing chords, but I've been told that tabs are better. Please help! thanks

Tabs are easy to read
the line on the top(E) is the string in the bottom of your guitar, the line in the bottom is the string at the top of your guitar. Now the numbers on the lines are were you should put your finger in the neck of your guitarin the space for example: the E-3----------- means that you should put your finger in the third space. In this tab you shoud first play the sixth string(from top to bottom) with your finger in the third space then you should play the fourth string(from top to bottom) with your finger on the seventh space, then the fifth string(from top to bottom) with your finger on the fourth space then the third string to the air and so forth.
E-3---------------------------
B------------4----------------
G-------7---------------------
D-----------------0-----------
A--------------------------7--
E---------------------4-------
Once you get the hang of it I recomend you this site
www.mxtabs.net
Good Luck and talk to yuo next time

Its like looking at the guitar laying down on your lap.(if your right handed)The rest is just counting up the frets on the fret board and 0 means you play the string open.
