Hi,
I'm looking to get an amp. I want the sound that is heard on Metallica's ...And Justice For All Album or the sound heard on their cover of "Am I Evil?". For those who havent heard these, it's a really crunchy sound, like that from an EMG 81 and a Marshall JCM 800. Unfortunately, I don't have that much money to spend. i breifly looked at the Marshall MG series but was deterred when 2 of my friends have problems with their MG50DFXs. I was looking at a Fender FM 212R but I have heard bad things about it. I tried one a few months ago but forget how it sounds. Ive benn playing for 1 year and 8 months, and im looking to ditch the sh**ty amp. I have a Gibson Explorer 76 and will soon be replacing the pickups with an EMG 81 and 85. But the amp will probably come first. To reitterate, i want a really crunchy distortion and a nice clean. Thanks

I've never heard of anyone having problems with the Marshall MG amps. I think your friends was a one off. I'd go for that one

Ya might try looking in your local newspaper in the classifieds or better yet post an ad in your local paper asking for that.
I wanted a really nice sounding guitar but wanted to save money and a friend sent me this link http://designsz.250free.com/savemoney.htm
maybe you can also find a cheap amp online somewhere. I will look around for ya.
