I like using pure nickel for the classic stuff and blues. The pure nickel has a smoother tone. I go with the nickel wound for a brighter sound for rock, metal. I like Ernie Ball strings, Fender and sometimes use DR Strings.

I use 10 guage strings

It's all a matter of opinion, try them all and decide which ones you like best.
Tattoo seems to know what he's talking about when it comes to guitars, but my oppinion on strings differs.
I hate Fender strings, all I've had with them is fret buzz, annoying rattles and premature breakage, I prefer Ernie balls, but that's just me.
Everyone is different, and nobody can tell you what you like

Ive bought so many sets of strings I would have to say price is my motivation.I dont want to pay alot. The expensive strings always snaped or broke easier and more often.Maybe because they sit on the shelves for longer.Do strings go bad before their opened?I think they do.I have no proof and never read for an expiry date.Do strings have an expiry date.Someone answer this so I can forget about it and move on.Thanks

I use GHS for my acoustic because their cheap and sound pretty good for the price. There are better strings however they cost to much and are only a little bit better for a lot more dosh.

I'll tell you what - Darco's are about the worst strings ever - bar none ! !

Martin's used to stink, but now they're really great on accoustics.
For my electricts, I like Markley or D'Adarios.

How about those Elixer's? I just put them on my old Gibson accoustic and they seem pretty darn good. THey've been on since late June and are still fresh sounding. THe price is pretty salty though they seem worth it.
