hey. i started playing when i was 14, im 16 now. good luck, and heres a tip, if your shy try and practice infromt of people as much as you can, i would screw up simple songs that i could actually play infornt of just my parents.... then i had my first gig.. ooh man i was so nervouse, and everything went wrong, the singer forgot to sing the course, and to add insult to injery, when i was in the paper he spelled my name "Jukie" and my name is julia. sad eh.. but anyways, my point is try and practice infront of people so you can get over that right away. and good luck
p.s... watch out for those beginner packs., they can jip you off.

hey guys-im 15 and im fairly new here too and have been playing guitar for a couple months now....i agree with julia, i have noticed even in my first couple lessons with real songs i have been messing up in front of my instructor even though im playing perfectly at my house. i would advise to push yourself and strive for a goal in playing the guitar
