Built a guitar mostly from Charvel parts. I've install a single Seymour
Duncan humbucker, but it's not working. Here's how I wired it (this is my
first shot at building a guitar...):
1. Red & White on the HB soldered together and taped off
2. Bare & Green twisted together and soldered to the back of the pot
3. Black wire from HB to left most leg on the pot (viewed from back of
pot)
4. Middle leg of the pot to the hot tip of the jack
5. Jack sleeve ground soldered to back of the pot
6. A small jumper wire from right most leg of pot to the back of the pot
I've measured the DC resistance of the 500k pot and see 507k, so I figure
that is OK. And the resistance of the HB is 7.46k, which seems to be in the
ballpark. Taken it apart a few part think I might have a cold solder joint,
but still no output.
Any troubleshooting suggestions would be appreciated. - Thanks! |

Double check your wiring and make sure your solder connections are nice and
neat. It helps if you have a nice clean tip on your soldering iron. |
