hi, any acoustic players with an elixir 3rd string breakage problem? im using nanoweb phospher bronze lights and mediums on my 2 working acoustics,.both in perfect setup,.both breaking 3rd 24 gauge and 3rd 26 gauge ,and no 2 breaks are in the same area along the string,.when i replace with non elixir [uncoated ] cheap 24 or 26 these 3rds dont break but go dull very quick ,.which is why i have to use elixir in the first place,.i seem to have toxic fingers and can kill a standard set in around half a gig,.i have tried all the elixir clones and they dont work ,.but its frustrating that elixir admit that the 3rds have a higher pressure [ 7 pounds more] than the rest of the set due to the core [13 gauge for med] being raised one and a half tones above normal ,.they say that this is to keep the 3rd treble tone matching the rest of set,.i have suggested that they should sacrifice a little bit of treble for a more stable 3rd that might last as long as the other 5 strings,.they have just ignored my emails of late but im gonna keep this up,.first of all i love elixir apart from the 3rd problem,.but why should i pay good money for strings and on the first gig have to replace one with an inferior cheaper string that dosent break,.why dont they take that on board and sort out this obvious problem,.why dont they GOOGLE "elixir 3rd string breakage",.so if you have this problem please let elixir know about it and maybe we can get them to change the 3rd design,.after all its the people that actually purchase these strings that should be listened to and not the famous users who get all the strings from elixir that they want FOR FREE while we the financiers of GORETEC have to keep on buying and gigging,.please e mail them,.you might even get some free strings,.thanks for listening,.dobrocop.

I'm 100% positive it's not the string or brand of strings? Sounds like you have a sharp edge on your bridge.
