I bought an American Standard tele about a year ago, but it seems to
trebley and not as warm sounding. Someone told me to replace the stock
pick ups with Seymour Duncan Vintage Broadcasters. I love the Chicken
Pickn style as well as rock.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!!!!!!! |

There's tons of pickups out there.. The ones you have stock should be
fine.. What amp or pedals are you using? |

Using a Fender Twin. I actually bought the Broadcasters this morning and
installed on my Mexican Tele. I think they sound much warmer and without
that ear piercing high end of the stock pick ups.
Don't get me wrong, the stock pick ups sounds great, but I think it might
be just a bit too twangy for me. I have a lot to learn about this subject
and guitar tone...always looking.
Any thoughts? |

Standard US Tele pickups lack the brass base plate that contributes quite a
bit to the "classic" Telecaster sound.
The 6 saddle bridges don't help much either.
You may want to considder switching to a 3 saddle ashtray bridge with
compensated saddles.
That's the setup I have on my main Telecaster and it sounds amazing ____________________ Technology, not technique
