I was wondering if anyone else thought the forums are kind of empty,
considering how many members have signed up to theguitarfiles?
How can we get more people to join the discussions?
If pictures of Tina Turner , Jacko and yngwie don't get em hooked, what
will?

Hey hey. I'm new to the guitar world and I was wondering if anyone could
give me some pointers. My friends and I have this crazy idea of starting a
band, just a
few of us getting together and having fun, nothing serious. I have some
music background but I want to know more about Bass and Electric guitars.
We're all kind of green. Any tips on guitars or drums would be helpful

hey look, I'm new to guitars, and well music for that matter, I've never
played a musical instrument before, except the fact that i throw together
pointless tunes on out out-of-tune piano
So, I've gotten interested in this Group called Trust Company, and well
Kevin Palmer just tears it up! him and the other two that play the guitar,
so I got this insane idea, :hey, I'd like to play the electric guitar:
I've done a LITTLE research on them and the acoustic, but, not nearly
enough to convince my parents I'm up for such a thing.
I'd REALLY prefer an electric,
number one: they look cool.
number two: they've got an awesome tune when played right. number three:
I've heard they are a bit easier to play when starting out.
I live in the middle of no where, so like the nearest guitar store is like
an hour away, so i was sorta hoping on researching, and purchasing a guitar
online.
I could REALLY use some help, and if ya'll can, i can give you my e-mail,
and perhaps you can give me the basics: like what is a humbuckler thing,
and, what would be the best type of electric to get, and how much
maintenance does it require, and what kind of amplifier should i get.
My parents think it would be good for me to play an instrument, the drums
was the first thing outta my mouth, but that was stamped on immediately, so
i REALLY thought it would be cool and fun to learn how to play the guitar,
I think they'd rather me play the piano, but I'm a crazy/wild kinda person
that REALLY needs something to bang on, so any help here is appreciated.
I'm not out there to get the best on the market either, just something that
sounds good and is in playable condition, so a used guitar, and amp would
be ok with me, so after getting me started on basic guitar info, maybe some
of you could get me some used guitar reccomindations at a good price.
enough said here, (nice site by the way) so I'll be awaiting a response,
PLEEEEASE help me!
ROCK ON TRUST COMPANY!!

Hey annonomous! I think I can help ya out a bit. The best guitar for
beginners is the fender stratcaster or the off brand which is basically the
same thing but still made by fender, a squier SE 100. They have a great
fun tune and you can by them in package deal at a Sam Goodys. It comes
with an 10 watt amp, which is all ya need if your first starting out, a
tuner, gig bag, bunch of pics, all for the low low price of $200. So go
out there and get ya a guitar and have some kick-ass fun!

How's it going...
I recommend a electric guitar package. You get the guitar
amp, picks, strap, tuner etc... In other words everything you need to get
started.
We sell a ton of these everyday:
JB Player Electric Works Guitar Package

As you get better as a player so will your taste of guitar, amps etc...

Thanks alot guys! the information really helps, they've got this guitar
package on ebay for like $135.00 it comes with guitar, case (cloth) 12
picks, strap, stand and like a one volt amp (or was it 5?) oh well I've had
my eye on that for a while, it looks pretty good, I just don't know
ANYTHING about guitars, or how to play, can I learn to play
the guitar from books? or do I have to have someone teach me? cos' if some
one needs to teach me, I'm outta luck, I was hoping on using a book, or
sumin.
but can someone answer me a question?
uhh, well on some guitars they have this little, well stick comin' out of
the well I don't know, and thats why I'm so embarrassed to even be here.
Its like I have no chance whatsoever of learning how to play, or even GET a
guitar for that matter.
But I'm determined, so if anyone knows what this stick/rod is comin' out of
some guitars, it would be great, I'd post a pic, I just don't know how.
