Any help gratefully received....
I have an Aria Pro II CS250 Cardinal guitar (from the early 80s) on which
one of the bridge saddles has broken. I've looked everywhere I can but
can't seem to find a replacement part. It's a fixed bridge, and the
saddles are offset, similar to the American Strat type. However, the
saddle height is much higher (min 12mm), since the Aria ones are raised at
the business end, rather than being flat like the Fenders. I wondered
about using the Fender part with longer hex screws to get the height, but
the angle created by this would mean the intonation screw wouldn't fit
through the bridge.
Does anyone have any suggestions? One shop suggested the only alternative
might be a replacement bridge, but I don't want to do this unless there's
really no other option.
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the reply. Here's the picture:

You can see one of the broken saddles (out of focus) in the foreground. I
guess the fact that they are U-shaped (rather than rectangular with a hole
like the Fenders) was a bit of a design fault, and after 25 years, the
fatigue set in - there was only one broken, but when I reopened the case to
take the pic, another one had gone! |
