Sounds like you might have a high fret or the neck could be twisted a
little.
Lay a ruler or straight edge on the frets at center of the neck and look
for a high fret.

Guitar 101 is right, you need a full setup by a pro on your guitar to get
it sorted.
A high fret or a twisted neck isn't the sort of thing you want to take on
unless you have a lot of experience. Get it checked by a pro, it's money
well spent to get a guitar playing perfectly, especially on a guitar like
that. ____________________ Technology, not technique

The neck doesn't seem to be twisted as we had it checked before we bought
it. so it might be the frets then. Thanks
Also has any one heard of the gibson nighthawk if so are they gd and are
there any big faults with them?
Many thanks for your help

I used to sell the Gibson Brand including the Blues Hawk and the Night
Hawk. Personally I never liked them do to problems.
They always had fret shrinkage and never stayed in tune.
I think Gibson tried a new scale length and it didn't work out.... Not 100%
sure but I like that was the problem.....
Get a Les Paul.... |

I have a Nighthawk and have never had any problems with it I'd take it to a
certified Gibson luthier and have him set it up.Mine is 10 years old and
still looks and plays like new. |
