just wondering i started playing acoustic 3 months ago.. and thats where i
stand now: i can pick or pluck at the summer 69 same tempo, i can bar but
not fast as much as 60 tempo, i can strum at oasis wonderwall tempo.. i
know couple of major scales and minor pentatonic.. chromatic is good
i can tune natural without a tuner.. - took lot of practice btw - but a
good tip i use is place my ear over the guitar body..
i use a gauge 12..
i started too late am 30 yo but i love music and have passion for it thats
why started learning.. am i too late or what?? is my progression ok?? r
there any professional guitarist who started as old as i am?? am i gonna
make it??

Its never to late...A person who has only been playing for 3 years may
actually know just as much as someone who has been playing for 10 or 15
years depending on how much time is put in on the instrument...person who
has been playing for 15 years might only play and hour or a half hour a day
where as a new player may play for hours and hours a day and it wouldnt
take long for the new player to get to a level that a more experienced
player is at however there is one thing a more experienced player has over
a new player and thats seasoning...A player who has playing a long time has
kind of started to create their own style in a way which can sometimes take
a very long time to do after years of learning other peoples songs.

I am 48 and bought a guitar (strat) 14 years ago. 4 months ago I was still
playing nothing more than smoke on the water (the guitar lived in the
closet). However, during the last 4 months I decided to actually learn to
play. Now I know over 15 songs and enjoy playing the guitar a lot! Sounds
like you are learning at a nice pace. I have spent more time learning in
the last four months than in the first 14 years!

Its never too late to learn. You may not be able to play as fast, but you
should still play fine.

well i pushed too much on myself that i got an injury in my fingers joints
i can hardly move my fingers now its been like this for couple of weeks..
hope i ll be able to recover soon..

i wish you a speedy recovery
also dont push yourself too hard take it like a hobby play for fun.play
when you feel like it . it is true that the brain learning is more
dificult when you get older but thats like at 50-60 sothing not at 30
you can still learn quite a lot & you are still at the 3rd of your life so
take your time & enjoy ...

i started late and have been at it for only about a year. every time i pick
up the guitar i say, 'man, why didnt i start this when i was about 14?'
