Hi, I have a 498T pickup with a metal grounding sleeve, would a poor ground
connection to the volume pot be the cause of a weak, low volume signal to
the amp? It came loose when I was foolishly poking around the wiring and I
had to reattach it, but it hasn't worked properly since. I tried soldering
it a second time but the result was the same, I'm wondering if I accidently
burnt something out. The 490 neck pup works fine, so it's not the amp or
the jack.
Thanks |

Thanks, it's hard to see how I could have caused any major harm. My iron
isn't the best, so I'm getting a new one and going to clean up the pot and
try again. |

I just installed the 490R and 498T in a dean EVO guitar. Sounds Great.
So was it the soldering? |

Still broken, I got a new soldering iron and started from scratch, I still
can't figure it out...
I started the newer thread Pickup At Half Volume about my continuing pickup
woes ,
this ones obsolete now.
