I'm new to guitars and want to start playing, I don't want to spend a lot
of money on a first guitar and am looking to get a budget starter guitar
for around 150 Euro or so.
Now I realize Epiphone is made by Gibson and Squire by Fender, and I
realize the debate between Gibson and Fender has been going on for a long
time, but I'm not conserned with Gibson or Fender, my focus is their
cheaper cousins.
What I want to know is what guitar I should get as a starter, I've never
really played guitar before so I don't know what feel I like. I've read
somewhere that the Epiphone Les Paul is a great starter, then I read the
Squire Strat is the best starter. Or is there something else out there I
should consider?
I'm a little confused and would appreciate some input from people in the
know! Thanks! |

The best thing I can do is recommend what Ive played and know of both
guitars...I own an Epiphone Les Paul 100 and for the price its a decent
guitar...I also tried the Squire years ago when a friend owned one and it
was ok but not my type of guitar.
I guess its all up to how it feels and sounds to you personally...not much
anyone can do except say pick the one you like better...my choice would be
the Epiphone Les Paul 100 because I own one...eventually i will buy a
Gibson however for now the Epiphone is good enough and solid enough for me
at this point in time...I was playing a charvel/jackson however i prefer
the Gibson style type of guitar.
