I have a guitar with a strat-type head which has a couple of string guides
screwed to it. Two strings go under each guide, one each side of the screw.
When I tune the high E string, it seems to stick under the guide and
doesn't tighten and loosen smoothly. I can get it in tune and it then
"pings" out of tune again.
Is there an answer for this? Should I apply some sort of lubricant to the
guides or file them?
Thanks. |

First thing I would do is unscrew the guide and take it off the guitar and
see if any type of residue, dirt or rust is there...once ive done that I
would probably buy some Big Bends Nut Sauce.
Video of Nut Sauce here.
