Hey everybody, I'm new to the forums, I wonder if any of you can give me
some advice?
Got a new schecter in the post today...
the bridge humbucker has come loose; the left height adjustment screw
(that's the one that goes into the spring right?) is completely loose and
will just fall out if turned upside down, and doesn't want to screw back in
to anything.
The pickup itself has just sunk back into the body on the left side.
Can anyone offer any advice as to what I can do to repair this? Or do you
think I'll need to get it repaired professionally?
Really appreciate any replies, thanks |

| If it has pickup rings just unscrew the 4 screws and pull the pickup out
and then tighten the screw. ____________________

Yeah, exactly like Guitar101 said.
Sounds like the screw has come out of the pickup, I imagine the spring will
be either rattling round in the pickup cavity, or more likely,l stuck to
the side of the pickup.
Don't forget to put the spring in between the pickup and the mounting
ring.
I know it sounds like teaching grandma to suck eggs, but you'd be amazed
how often these things get overlooked ____________________ Technology, not technique

thanks v. much for the replies - the spring still seems to be in place,
when I put the screw back in it goes into the spring.
I might just try hooking the pickup up and trying to get the screw back in
there but if I can't do that I'll remove the pickup ring to make it a bit
easier.
thanks again! |

Best to take the mounting ring off.
There is a risk that you could damage the pickup windings if you try
hooking the pickup ____________________ Technology, not technique

I normally replace the springs with a short piece of surgical tubing. I
find it alot easier to work with |

| Yes indeed, and will cure any annoying rattles that may transmit to the
pickup and mess with your tone ____________________ Technology, not technique
