| The only problem with plugging those 8 ohm headphones in would be that the
sound will only come out of one earpiece ____________________ Technology, not technique

Not to worry. Almost any headphones with impedence lower than 600-ohms
will work. In the case of stero phones, they can be modified for both
stereo and monaural, by adding a small SPST (3-pin) switch, as follows:
X---to tip of plug (for mono)
X---from headphone wire which was connected to ring
X---to ring (for stereo)
If you don't want to modify the phones, you can add a stereo headphone jack
to the amp, wired to feed the mono amplifier output to both ring and tip
terminals (resulting in mono operation when stereo phones are plugged into
it).
