hello everyone!
i bought a line 6 hd147 about a year ago and i still cant find a good rythm
distortion.
i play an ibanez rg320 with emg's (81/85).
there is so much tweeking you can do with this amp, its hard to find the
right sound im looking for.
i like that mean sounding, tight, growly low end with good crunchy mids.
its hard to get rid of that digitally wishy washy, staticky sounding treble
on this amp. its horrible
then i thought it might be the cab im playing through. i think i made a
mistake in buying a crate cabnet with 75 watt celestions. i should have
bought the line6 cab that is supposed to go with it, oh well.
if anyone is farmiliar with this amp and has any advice for me, it would be
greatly appreciated, for i am on the verge of trading it for a tube amp.
either a b52 at100 or a 5150 II or 6505+. i really want a krank or a mesa,
but they are way too expensive.

You need an all tube amp to get the sound your looking for. I hate digital
it sounds so thin!

Back when I used Line6, I liked the JCM800 for my crunchy rhythem sound.

I own a Line 6.
Youll never get warm growl from this amp. As stated you may want to buy a
nice tube head.
I personally sugest a Mesa Boogie. ____________________

You can get a thick sound out of a solid state amp, look at Dimebag Darrell
for example. Here I'll give you my EQ settings Bass:8-9 Mids:5-6 Treble:10
you max want to buy another equalizer to add to your sound or worse case
scenario a chorus pedal.
