The new MHG Soltero is a Dean USA original deep carved mahogany body with a natural "open grain" finish. However, unlike the traditional mahogany bodies found on other classic designs, the MHG Soltero features acoustically optimized chambered bodies which reduce the overall weight of the instrument to less than 8 lbs, while maintaining the warm, well balanced tonal properties of a solid mahogany body.
The MHG Soltero sports the classic Dean "V" neck shape and 12" radius for the ultimate in playability. It features a custom beveled single cutaway classic design with a hand sculpted heel, providing clean access to the upper frets.
"The Soltero series, originally introduced in 2006, has grown exponentially in popularity.. players looking for a classic feel and tone in a modern shape have really gravitated to and embraced these instruments like no other series we've introduced. Our USA factory has stepped up the hand finished quality of these guitars to rival the most expensive ones produced by other domestic factories, and with a street price of around $1299, you just can't beat this guitar," says Dean B. Zelinsky, designer of the Soltero series and founder of Dean Guitars.
With its simple, fluid lines and natural open grain finish, the MHG Soltero adds a new dimension of warmth to the series. The body features a tune-o-matic style bridge and Dean hardtail block tailpiece. Two Dean USA Made Custom Shop Time Capsule humbuckers provide rich deep midrange tone, precise clarity in the upper range and captivatingly clear lower registers. They're controlled by two volume and two tone speed knobs, and a 3-way toggle switch.
The set neck is a classic "V" shape mahogany with a pearl block inlay adorned ebony fingerboard. The headstock is a 3 x 3 design with black Grover tuners, a gold Soltero logo and the classic Dean Wings logo.
As with the entire Soltero line, the MHG Soltero ships with a custom deluxe Dean hardshell case.
