Babicz Design Ltd. specializing in patented guitar technology, has collaborated with C.F. Martin & Co. Inc. to introduce a new guitar. The new C.F. Martin model OMCRE six-string has been designed using the Martin OM Orchestral Model body shape with a cutaway. The guitar's concept includes a Martin vintage look, combined with the contemporary Babicz Continually Adjustable Neck technology.
(Patent # 7,157,634)
The OMCRE boasts solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, solid vintage-toned Carpathian spruce soundboard, ebony head veneer, 25.4" fretboard, and a classic Martin style pyramid bridge. Also featured are Gotoh vintage-style nickel open-back tuners, a two-way adjustable truss rod, bone nut, compensated Tusq saddle, the classic Martin herringbone body boarder inlay, style 28 rosette and the HD zig-zag backstrip motif. Completing the package is the new and revolutionary Fishman 'Aura Pro' Sound Imaging system, which provides studio quality tone during live performances.
The Babicz Design Continually Adjustable Neck is a patented solution for instantly adjusting the string height or action of a stringed musical instrument by the player, without altering the neck angle or pitch. An ordinary hex key is inserted into a small plate on the back of the guitar, and a quick turn allows the player to set the action to their exact preference in seconds - without de-tuning. Another benefit to the Babicz system is the neck is unattached to the soundboard of the guitar, allowing it to vibrate more freely and adding long term stability to the upper bout.
The official launch of the new Martin model OMCRE will be this July at the Summer NAMM Show.
