Jimi Hendrix Style Chords Changes

Jimi Hendrix had a cool way of playing chords. He would take a basic major chord and play it from the 3rd or 1st inversion using hammer-ons and pull-offs. Here's an example playing a C major bar chord from the 3rd fret.

-----------------
-----------------
-5------5-----5--
-5------5-----5--
-3--5h7-7-5h7-7--
-----------------

Here's C major, F major, G major Bar chords played from there 1st inversions.

  C F G
-------------------
-------------------
-------------------
-5-----------------
-5-----3-----5-----
-7-----3-----5-----
-------5-----7-----

Practice a basic song using these chords alternating from the root to the ones listed above. It's also a good idea to listen to Jimi Hendrix's music as that really the best method of learning any style. This lesson will get you started on the basics of his rhythm technique.
