Stewart-MacDonalds New Golden Age Pickups

Stewart-MacDonald has released a  new Golden Age guitar pickup, inspired by the great pickups of the 50's in looks, specifications, and sound. Three styles are available, all incorporating the legendary Alnico 5 magnet and traditional wax potting. Golden Age single coils feature vulcanized fibre flatwork, vintage staggered polepieces, cloth clad output wires, and an independent shield wire, which allows simple phase swapping. Available for neck, middle and bridge positions, a high output option is also offered for the bridge position. In an improvement on the 50's originals, Golden Age single coils are copper wrapped to shield against noise. In addition, each pickup comes with both white and black covers.

Golden Age humbuckers utilise vintage shaped bobbins, a nickel plated brass baseplate and a 3-wire output for dual coil or coil cut options. These humbuckers, which maintain their 50's detailing right down to the original style assembly screws on the bottom of the unit, are also available in an overwound version, which benefits from being wound to 12Kohm for high output.
