Grandson making movie about Guitar-Legend Grandfather

Actor Anthony Montgomery is getting to know his grandfather, the late great jazz guitarist John Leslie Montgomery. The grandfather in question is better known by his nickname -- Wes Montgomery -- and the guitar great called Indianapolis home until his death on June 15, 1968, at the age of 45.

Anthony also grew up in Indy, but his acting career (portraying Ensign Travis Mayweather on "Star Trek: Enterprise," for example) has made him a West Coaster.

He's been in town the past three weeks searching out musicians and folks who knew his grandfather, looking for stories and inspiration. He's serving as executive producer for a documentary, which is still unnamed.

Another pro involved in the project is award-winning filmmaker Jerald Harkness, who runs Visionary Productions, based in Indianapolis.

If anyone has memorabilia or information that might help the project, call (317) 575-5908.
