America's Greatest Guitar Face

The New York Post's Page Six reports: "A gang of guitar gods has agreed to judge a photo search of America's greatest 'guitar face' ? the musical mugging that some overexuberant ax-men do during a solo.

The photos are being evaluated by Steve Vai, Hank Williams Jr., BILLY IDOL sideman Steve Stevens, Rick Derringer, Dick Dale, ex-STEELY DAN's Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter, DAVID BOWIE guitarist Earl Slick, TWISTED SISTER's J.J. French and Roger McGuinn of the BYRDS. The judges and contest entrants are also being asked to cast their vote for the most facially ecstatic ax-men of all time, who will gain entry into the Guitar Face Hall of Fame, sponsored by Mag Rack's Guitar Xpress, a new video-on-demand instruction service. (Angus Young of AC/DC and B.B. King are said to be shoo-ins.) The greatest amateur guitar face will win a new Les Paul 'Black Beauty' electric guitar."
