| brian writes As promised here's Part 2 of the finger tapping keyboard style lesson. In this lesson I will show you how to finger tap using 2 pentatonic scales (octave) at the same time. Ok, first things first, let me show you the two pentatonic patterns. Their pretty easy as their the same scale, but one is a octave higher.
Pattern One:
----------------------------------8---
---------------------------8---5------
-------------------7---5--------------
------------7---5---------------------
-----7---5----------------------------
--5-----------------------------------
A Minor Pentatonic stepping up using 5ths except for the 8th fret 1st
string which is a (b6 or #5).
Pattern Two:
-------------------------------------------20---
-----------------------------------20--17-------
------------------------19----17----------------
---------------19---17--------------------------
------19---17-----------------------------------
--17--------------------------------------------
A Minor Pentatonic stepping up using 5ths except for the 20th fret 1st
string which is a (b6 or #5) [Octave Higher]
Now let's put the two together.
--------------------------------------------------------------8(20)--
-----------------------------------------------8(20)--5(17)----------
----------------------------------7(19)--5(17)-----------------------
---------------------7(19)-5(17)-------------------------------------
-------7(19)--5(17)--------------------------------------------------
-5(17)---------------------------------------------------------------
T T T T T T T T T T
Fingers---------------------------------------------------------------
1 2 1 2 1 2 1 3 1 3
T = Tap with the finger noted above.
Sound Tip: Add some sweet sustain with a distortion/overdrive pedal.
