Finger Tapping Keyboard Style - Part 1

Most if us know the style of finger tapping that Eddie Van Halen introduced back in 1977-78. This style of tapping was played over and over back in the 80's. In this lesson I will show you what I call a keyboard style finger tapping. It's much more interesting and truly a breathe of fresh air!

First let me show you the chord basic form we will be using. C major without the 5th[G] This will be the form for the left hand.

-----------8---------------
----5----------------------
----5----------------------
---------------------------
---------------------------
---------------------------

This will be the form for the right hand or (tapping) hand

---------------15----------
---------13----------------
----12---------------------
---------------------------
---------------------------
---------------------------

C5 G,C,G

Ok, let's put the two together.

-------------------------8--------15-----
---------5---------13--------------------
----5---------12-------------------------
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
               T T T

T= Tap with your right hand.

So we will be tapping the 12th fret 3rd string, 13th fret 2nd string and 15th fret 1st string. When played together we get a nice sounding C major arpeggio. Were basically playing chord triads with two hand tapping rather than one string linear tapping. Enjoy!
