Most guitar company's recommend that all acoustic guitars should be in a room with at least 45-50% humidity. This will keep your guitar from cracking, splitting, finish problems, neck bowing etc.
You might want to consider buying a humidifier if you live in a dry climate where with humidity levels are lower then what the manufacturer recommends. Humidifiers are pretty reasonable priced and will save you alot of heartache in the long run. Remember Acoustic guitars are the most vulnerable but do not overlook electrics as they need the same care to keep the neck in shape. |
