Rock/Metal Starter Tips (Part 2)
slong writes "This short and sweet lesson will cover a technique called palm muting. This is what gives you that fat chunking sound, as heard in most if not all rock and metal tunes. It is simple and only takes one hand to learn. First you want to get tuned up and you can so so from the main menu! Now kick on the distortion pedal and here we go.

First hold your right hand out like your going to karate chop a Backstreet Boys cd. Now rest it on the strings and move your pick forward or backwards on just the 2 strings like mentioned in Part 1. For those of you that missed the first part it would be the 6th and 5th strings. Now simply find the chunk you desire. Once you get it down you can apply palm muting to the first lesson to give it some extra spice.

Well until next time.Have fun.

Happy Holidays, Ron
