Model interchange chords are chords taken from a parallel tonality to use in primary tonality. A good example of this is take the chords from the key of C minor and add them to key of C major. This would be Natural Minor Modal Interchange chords since C minor is your basic natural minor (Aeolian mode). Let's get started with Natural Minor Modal Interchange chords.
- I-7 = C-7
- II-7(b5) = D-7 (b5)
- bIII maj7 = Eb maj 7
- IV-7 = F-7
- V-7 = G-7
- bVI maj7 = Ab maj7
- bVII 7 = Bb7
Just think now you have 7 more chords that you can spice up your progressions with. You can also do the same with harmonic minor but the most common chords are II-7(b5) and the V7(b9)
