A guitar that belonged to the late Kurt Cobain was auctioned off for $117,500 in Dallas, Texas on Saturday. In the sale by Heritage Galleries were more than 1,700 lots including instruments, photos, autographs, posters and toys.
Cobain's guitar, the first of his instruments to be sold since he died ten years ago, was expected to make $100,000.
Also sold was a piano on which Elton John wrote hit songs Tiny Dancer and Your Song ($164,500) and one of John's famous jumpsuits ($26,337).
