History of Danelectro
Timeline:
1934 -1946 Danelectro founder Nathan Daniel made amplifiers for Epiphone
1947 Danelectro company was born and they produced amplifiers for Montgomery Wards
1948 Exclusive amplifier producer for Sears and Roebuck and Targ and Dinner of Chicago.
1954 Started production of solidbody guitars for Sears, under the Silvertone name and the Danelectro name.
1956 Silvertone and Danelectro lines using the standard Dano materials
1966 Danelectro was sold to MCA, but remained with the company.
1967 The Coral line of guitars is introduced
1969 MCA closed the Danelectro plant. Dan Armstrong continued manufacturing Danelectros through his company Ampeg.
90's Danelectro Returns and takes and takes the market by storm with new effects guitar and more! There still going strong!
