New Rock Acoustic Guitar Lessons DVDs
Rock House is now offering a two level Rock Acoustic Guitar program. The first DVD program titled Learn Rock Acoustic Beginner is designed for anyone with little or no experience; it begins at the roots with an easy-to-follow look at basic chords, scales, finger picking and strum patterns. The second DVD titled Learn Rock Acoustic Intermediate includes techniques like strumming, finger picking, acoustic slapping and soloing and introduces players to song writing by showing how to put chords togther to form progressions.

Those unfamiliar with the "Talkbox" by name will almost certainly be familiar with the litany of distinctive sounds it can produce, as popular artists as diverse as Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton, and Bon Jovi have used the Talk Box over the course of the last thirty years of popular music. In short, the Talk Box is an apparatus that allows guitarists to effectively 'talk' guitar notes by routing the guitar's amplified sound through a piece of tubing the player holds in his mouth. TC Electronic Software Update for their G-Major Guitar Processor
TC Electronics has once again updated the software for their G-Major rackmount guitar processor. The update is available now for free download from TC's web site, and requires a PC running Windows XP or 2000 plus a MIDI interface to install. New features in the version 1.27 release include: In Level, Global Out Level and Preset Out Level mapping - A Mapping Response Curve has been added to the three level parameters in the Mod Menu so you can define your own curve to the "In Level", "Global Out Level" and "Preset Out Level" parameters. This gives control over the behavior when using an Expression pedal to control one or more of these parameters.

Eric Clapton to host Crossroads Guitar Festival benefit
Eric Clapton will be presenting the three-day Crossroads Guitar Festival at Fair Park in Dallas on June 4-6, a charity event that will culminate with an all-star concert. The event kicks off with the June 4 opening of Guitar Center Village, which will be coordinated by musical-instrument retailer Guitar Center. According to a press release, festivalgoers "will be offered once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to be in an intimate setting as artists give fans the ultimate look into their craft."
