| Combinator 2 Effects Switcher from Carl Martin |
| The Carl Martin Combinator 2 is a non-MIDI programmable effects switching system that handles up to eight pedals. Each pedal is connected to one of eight individual effects loops (two with stereo returns), and then assigned to one or more of 18 groups. Pushing the program switch for a group simultaneously engages all of the pedals assigned to it. So, for example, if you have a fuzz, a wah, and a chorus assigned to program switch 1, pressing that switch will turn them all on or off. The Combinator 2 features 18 programs, tuner output, master mute, and external switching on loops 1, 2, and 3, each with a separate jack. |

| Neoclassical Rock Ideas |
enigmatic_minstrel writes "Given our recent Yngwie-bashing, I thought it would be good to look at some interesting neo-classical ideas that made Yngwie Popular in the first place- because even though he can be slightly over-the-top, he is still a fantastic and popular player. Even if this style of music isnt your thing, a lot can be learned, and applied to other styles." |

| Joe Satriani Showcases JSX Amp at Clinic Tour |
Peavey endorser and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani will demo his new co-designed Peavey JSX guitar amplifiers on an upcoming U.S. Clinic Tour, which runs from May 11 in Overland Park, Kan., through May 18 in Portland, Ore. The new three-channel JSX guitar amplifier combines the tonal flexibility and responsive, versatile gain structures he's always sought into a single guitar amplifier. As a starting point in creating this amp, Peavey amplifier design engineers began with two amps Satriani has used extensively throughout his career: the Peavey Classic 50 and, more recently, Peavey Triple XXX Series amps. "I started to rely on those amps quite a bit, but I wound up in a situation where my live rig was completely different from what I used in the studio," he said. One of the main goals of the JSX amp project was to bring these different tones and EQ options together in one amp. |

The two humbuckers in the HERC set are designed to be used primarily with contemporary high-gain amps with the mid-scoop/pronounced bottom end, but will work with all other types as well.
