| Buddy Guy has inspired the greats! |
|
| Blues master (George) Buddy Guy first heard electric blues guitar from Lightnin' Slim, who used to sit and play on the porch of the Lettsworth (La.) General Store. Guy was hooked and in the early 1950s began playing the blues on the Baton Rouge, La., circuit. Guy moved to Chicago and worked as a session musician for Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and Koko Taylor. His first album, "Stone Crazy," was released in 1962. In the late '60s, Guy teamed with blues harp player Junior Wells in a powerful partnership. |

| Eric Clapton - Bio |
|
| The most popular blues guitarist that ever deigned to play rock 'n' roll, Eric Clapton (b. March 30, 1945, Ripley, England): 1) Was part of the Yardbirds and Cream , two of the most popular rock groups of the '60s, 2) Made rock history with Derek & The Dominos' classic album Layla in the '70s, 3) Was the subject of one of pop music's most popular boxed-set retrospectives (the 4-CD Crossroads) in the '80s, and 4) Met the greatest commercial success of his life with his live Unplugged set of the '90s. The only rock star to be nicknamed "God" against his will--as British graffiti of the mid-'60s had it--Clapton has had more ups and downs in his lengthy career than most of his contemporaries, but in the literal sense remains very much a survivor. |

| Versatile musician, guitarist, vocalist, composer, producer and arranger Steve Lukather was born in Los Angeles on October 21 in 1957. Before his father bought him a guitar (a simple Kay acoustic) and a copy of Meet the Beatles at the age of seven, Luke started to play drums and keyboards. "I love keyboards, I write all my songs on keyboards except for the real obvious 'burn' tunes. I find it much easier, you have all these great synth sounds and you play a C chord and it's sounds like God, and you start thinking melodies as opposed to chops." (Lukather, 1986). |

Johnny Winter is an American music legend. Since his first appearance on the pages of Rolling Stone in 1968, Johnny has epitomized the fiery and flamboyant rock and roll guitar hero. Yet Johnny has continually returned to the blues roots from which his music sprang. Between 1968 and 1980, he cut fifteen albums that define the blues-rock form, ranging from the raw power of Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo to the subtlety of acoustic Delta blues. In 1984 Johnny signed with Alligator Records, where his guitar, vocal and interpretive abilities were given a thriving environment. His three critically acclaimed Alligator releases, two of which received Grammy nominations, solidified Johnny's presence as one of the top blues artists in the world.
