Come on...I've been reading this thread and trying to bite my tongue.
Metalica are a bunch of old guys now...it's over! Just like the Stones or anyone else who keeps pushing on, it becomes tired and very old. The Metals been knocked out of them. Age will do this.
I use to have long hair at one time also...I could bang my head with the best of them...all thats in the past for this band.

I,ve always been a big metallica fan my favorite's are from ride the lighting to and justice.seems like they put more in to every song back then.I think maybe back then they just had the excitement of being one of the big up and comeing bands playing with there rock heros.now there just burnt out they have already done everything. It seems like things really took a turn for the worst when they all took that first major break after the black album.I think they have the creative talent to make a come back, they will just have to get focused again and excited about the music.they've already made there big mark in music history now they should just let out doing what they've already done be what drives them.

I think anyone who bangs there head looks stupid...I always thought that...Even when I was a teen and into metal I never banged my head...

40 is the new 30...Who says metal is for the young...Peace

Spidy,
It goes without saying.
The majority of sales in the metal market are from teens and young adults....do you think teens want to watch or listen to what 40 plus year olds have to say.
Generation gap my friend...just an unwritten law.

I agree that your right...sadly...Thats is what is wrong with music today...All the musicians are young and are not that good...Video did kill the radio star...I think that needs to change before music gets good again...Frankly I think older musicians are better and more seasoned...Its very rare to find young talented entertainers.

Im sad to say your right ricoboc...It wasnt always this way was it?

Glad to see this one back. ric, 40 is not old if u like the classics. Metal is for all ages. i was on the metallica site and i saw that james was scheduled to play on CMT Outlaws. So i decided to look in to it to c if his voice had improved. Man, he sounds quite supurb now compared to st anger. i now think that the guys still have it. The new album is scheduled for release sometime mid to late next year and i think it will be better than st anger. Whether or not they got enough to go back to load and reload caliber stuff is not for me to tell. james looks just like he did wen i saw them at s & m. They arent old. Look at the guys of van halen, theyre older than the guys of metallica and they r bak. Personally i dont like theyre new stuff but i kno people that do. i think tho that james should take commmand over the song writing again. He wrote almost all theyre previous songs with lars and that stuff rocked. Now theyre lettin kirk and theyre manager Bob Rock help and it is simply hurting them in my opinion. I heard via gossip that the guys are doin major reparations on theyre studio for sound quality purposes. I think they r on the road to making a good comebak a great one. Thats my opinion tho.

Peace and Rock
