| I dont know much about the dobro.I know a few people that play it though. It
sounds cool.I also think alan jacksons band sounds great. They have a dobro
player dont they.Whats his name or are the guys in his band all studio
musicans. There good enough to be.I like the older tunes buy alan jackson
not the new ones.Steve warener is a good guitar player too isnt he.Jerry
reed isnt bad either. ____________________ Treat people the way you would want to be treated. |

Its all horses for courses really. Jimmy Page and Led Zep were such diverse
players, and they are rare in that the guitar isnt the major focal point of
the bands music. It was a combination of the 4. Sometimes I dont even
notice the guitar solos, as the magic of the 4 in full groove is too
much.
Kashmir, my favourite led zeppelin song, doesnt even have a solo. One of
THE great riffs, inventive bass and keyboard work from JPJ, Plant at his
wailing best and Bonzo...headpoundingly great.
Battle of Evermore too- no solo. When the Levee breaks is another song
where the guitar is just one component to the music.
Pagey could write a great solo (stairway, whole lotta love) and play really
sloppy ones. But he is perhaps the greatest rock songwriter, because,
fundamentally, he understood music and took many diverse interests in
music. He was a huge blues and jazz fan, but love acoustic and folk music
too. Not to mention the odd thunderous riff.
Not the best guitarist in the playing sense, but as he was the guitarist in
rock's greatest ever band, surely he stands atop of the pile? ____________________ Cough cough jazz cough cough |

ummmmmmm
Wes Montgomery a jazz player isn't sloppy how about Albert Lee a country
player he isn't a sloppy player.... on and on...
You are who you listen to. If your into Jimmy you might be sloppy yourself,
who knows we have never heard you play. I'm into notes that are in key and
clean. Sloppy is for garage bands. If you can play with heart and feel and
clean you da man. Anybody can stumble over notes. No pun intended. :giggly:
What the?
I never said precision made you a bad player either.
All I'm saying is that it's not the be all and end all.
The only thing I stumble over is my own feet on the way to the bar

| I dont like sloppy guitar players. It shows that they havent botherd to put
in the time on the instrument to become a clean player.Every one is sloppy
when they dont practice or at least play for a while. If I dont play for a
few weeks Im not as clean as if I been playing for hours everyday.Thats my
opinion. So if you disagree ChrisC or telefreak you know where you can go. ____________________ Treat people the way you would want to be treated. |

Its payback for the lay off the drugs crack and the your full of poop
remark. You pissed me off.So like the angry little shark that you are or
might be I threw in some bait and it didnt take long for you to bite
because thats what you are all about.Remarks like yours and like the one I
just made should not be part of a friendly disscussion. And to question my
spelling of words when your messages are full of spelling errors seems odd
to me.
We can end it here if you back off on the personal attacks. ____________________ Treat people the way you would want to be treated. |

Dude, I don't care about your prob;ems with ChrisC, but if you talk crap I
will tell you so.
If you take offence to that then you need to get out more and quit worrying
about what complete strangers on a forum who you will never meet think of
you.
Opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one. :giggly:
Lighten up dude.
P.S. I don't really care what anyone thinks of me, I just speak my mind,
anyones opinions just go over my head :whoosh:
If you don't like me, I can live with that, just don't bring other people
down by arguing when you don't like what they have to say.
Brian and I may do a bit of sparring to wind eachother up, but it's all in
good fun. Chill
P.S. Brian. EVH sucks :giggly: ____________________ Technology, not technique
