Jimmy Page created the most popular hard rock band ever. For that alone he's one of the greatest.

Brian, he may be sloppy, but precision doesn't make you a great player

Like my nomination of Jeff Buckley, not a shredder, but still a great player.

We need to get away from thinking of heavy metal shredding and playing fast in general as being good.
I think it's more about communicating with the listener/audience than technical proficiency.
But it's all a matter of opinion

Enough with the get off of drugs and your talking poop stuff. Its to passive agressive. We all have opinions and were entitled to them.I said I liked Jimmy(Hello)Im basicly saying the drummer and the rest of the band had alot to do with the writing of the songs. Not every one agreed with you ChrisC.You only here what you want to here and forget the rest.I think the whole disscussion went over your head.Jimmy is a sloppy player.

Before you said that songs were written by the guitar player then the drums and everything else is added.I dont think Led Zeppelins coda album was recorded that way. They used old drum tracks of johns to make some of that album. So your so wrong you dont even know it.

"Top jimmy rocks Top jimmy swings"Oh Jimmy" "Oh Jimmy"hes the king.

"Dont touch Jimmy,Keep your hands off of Jimmy"

ummmmmmm

Wes Montgomery a jazz player isn't sloppy how about Albert Lee a country player he isn't a sloppy player.... on and on...

You are who you listen to. If your into Jimmy you might be sloppy yourself, who knows we have never heard you play. I'm into notes that are in key and clean. Sloppy is for garage bands. If you can play with heart and feel and clean you da man. Anybody can stumble over notes. No pun intended. :giggly:

I talked with Jerry in Jonesboro TN a while back ago after 4th of july show. Very Down to earth.
