Woody was a folk singer from the twenties. He paved the way for using the guitar in folk and blues. He inspired people like Bob Dylan and Pete Seager. He also influenced a very young James Hendrix. I like his simple ideas that melody is everything. He said all in music is three chords and the rest is just showing off. It would be good to be able to play lead like Slash, Kravitz or Satriani. But I hope I could write something someone would like to hum someday.

I nominate Dime Bag Darrell

I don't see to many heavy music fans so I guess I'm the black sheep
:swearing:

I'll second that! Even if we are outnumbered around these parts. Did you know he is back with Dean Guitars! www.deanguitars.com First they sign Michael Schenker and now Dimebag. Yes! New gear coming as well. You also might want to check out the Dean from Hell http://www.deanguitars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4912 It's the guitar Dime used for the Cowboys from Hell album. Very cool, but lots o' mileage.

Jeff healy would be a good pick for bluesy yet rock guitar...Can you see the light is really good and he has numerous hits in Canada anyway...Try to copy his guitar riffs...It may sound easy to duplicate however it isnt for some unknown reason to me...He was amazing in his short time in the limelight...I tried copying his style however its just a little different...His riffs are easy...Its his timing that he starts his riffs and the un-even approch that throws me off a bit...I can play his riffs however the timing throws me off.
