So I want to bring my guitar to my dorm next semester, but I'd need a mini amp so as not to distress my room mate and the rest of the people in my hall. Any suggestions for a mini amp that would do the job?

The marshall or dean markley mini amps are cool and actually sound pretty good.

;) Hi, I've got a Roland Micro Cube and it's perfect for your dorm room. It has several different amp models as well as effects like delay, reverb, phaser and flange. Plus it has a CD input for playing along with your favorite track as well as a headphone jack for quiet time. But this thing rocks, too - plenty loud when you need it!. And it'll run off batteries - very portable.
Vox makes a similar item although I haven't tried it, called the DA-5. It also has amp models and effects, plus more power. Good Luck!

I use 2 have the marshall (white) lead 12 micro stack when I was a kid and I loved it for not waking up my parents. It has a growl. fun 2 play and way better than a peavey or something like that.(Ive never heard the roland though)

Instead of an amp why not just get a rockman or something and use headphones.

Hmm ... probably your best bet is to get something w/ a headphone out jack ... to keep the peace.
I rather see you NOT spend $$ on something that is going to be so small that it will be of no use except in a small dorm room.
Those type of small amps ususally sound crappy anyway, so just find something that's portable, can be used for small gigs (maybe w/ a direct out) and does have the headphone jack.
Just my humble opinion. I've been there and have spent $$ on what you want ... it's not money well spent.

I ended up getting a Danelectro Honeytone. It was thirty bucks at my local music store and has a headphone input jack. With regard to the above post, I definitely agree with you, but since I have to fly from school back home, it isn't convenient to have an amp that's even a moderate size. I appreciate everyone's input!

Nice choice ... the Honeytone. I can see your reasoning, being that you have to take to the skies w/ the little bugger.
