hi , i have a 2 watt handbuild hi gain TUBE amp . its output is 8 ohm impedence . its a line out for running 8 ohm cabinet .

i was wondering if i could plug headphone into this ???? most heapdhone nowadays are like 32 ohm or over . Any chance of blowing my output transformer ???

i also check ebay and i saw 8 ohm headphone ( vintage from the 70/80s ) but those are STEREO heapdhone . woudl that be a problem . arent guitar amp MONO .

** i heard all type of answer yet : doesnt matter , doesnt matter casue its not enough power to blow the transformer , its very important .etc...

id like really to get a good answer .

thank you guys .

i just dont want to blow out my transformer or my whole amp . thank you .

The only problem with plugging those 8 ohm headphones in would be that the sound will only come out of one earpiece

Not to worry. Almost any headphones with impedence lower than 600-ohms will work. In the case of stero phones, they can be modified for both stereo and monaural, by adding a small SPST (3-pin) switch, as follows:

X---to tip of plug (for mono)
X---from headphone wire which was connected to ring
X---to ring (for stereo)

If you don't want to modify the phones, you can add a stereo headphone jack to the amp, wired to feed the mono amplifier output to both ring and tip terminals (resulting in mono operation when stereo phones are plugged into it).
